AN35: Poseidon – Preventing false alarms
Poseidon monitoring unit sends SMS, e-mail, and SNMP traps whenever a sensor value is outside of a safe range. However, when the temperature or humidity fluctuates, the unit can send tens or hundreds of messages that are unnecessary and bother the user. AN35 describes ways of avoiding false alarms.

PD Trigger
PD Trigger is a Windows application that receives alarms from Poseidon and Damocles units, and performs simple actions such as displaying a warning message, sending a SMS, or activating a remote output. Alarm alerts are received via SNMP traps. Alarm types are evaluated by conditions and appropriate actions are performed.
PD Trigger can, to a limited extent, replace monitoring (NMS) or control (SCADA) systems.

nmsDashboard is a program for general device monitoring over the network. Continuous monitoring for 24 hours, 7 days a week from any PC running under Windows, nmsDashboard enables you to supervise unlimited number of sensors over different protocols, among other all types of sensors for the Poseidon via SNMP. There is a Wizard in installation package, which automatically searches for the Poseidon units on set IP address and log configuration from them. For start sets graphic patterns are built-in.

AN25: Replace serial printer with PortStore - network serial buffer
serial printers are nowadays still used to monitor reports from various devices as central alarm unit or fire alarm. Sometimes it can be useful to monitor printed data over Ethernet network or simply replace the serial printer and collect data over the network. Application Note 25 describes how to use the PortStore unit (blackbox with 2MB flash memory inside) to store the data coming to the serial port, buffer them and share over the network. You can replace your serial printer with PortStore or connect it in parallel with your printer.

RoHS EC guideline
The EC "Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical & Electronic Equipment" (RoHS) guideline has been released in order to reduce the heavy metal load in electrical and electronic products caused by e.g. lead and mercury. All manufacturers are obligated to provide only RoHS-compliant products to the European market, effective from July 1st, 2006. In cooperation with our suppliers, all relevant products are currently redesigned to comply with the EC guideline. Thus, HW group s.r.o will be able to deliver some RoHS-compliant products already before the guideline's official commencement of July 1st, 2006 (probably April 2006).

CeBIT 2006: A New Model: Poseidon 1250
Measures temperature and other environment sensors via Ethernet.
Poseidon 1250 is a device capable of sending e-mail when the sensor’s temperature goes out of the pre-defined range or when the contact of a connected relay closes. Apart from e-mail and the WWW graphical interface, also several M2M protocols are supported (SNMP, XML, Modbus/TCP etc.)

AN22 - How to send an e-mail from the PortStore buffer device
The PortStore buffer device has the facility to send e-mail alert when power failure occurs or the buffer is getting full. These functions are useful when you use PortStore as CDR/SMDR buffer for PBX in remote location. To use this function, it is necessary to have installed a SMTP server on the network which takes care of e-mail delivery. This application note describes configuration of the PortStore with a freeware SMTP server for MS Windows - Free SMTP server.

10/100 Embedded module Ethernet switch available
New developed "Ethernet Switch Charon Board" provide for connect the Charon I or Charon II embedded module to the 100 Mbit Ethernet network. There are 4 10/100 Mbit Ethernet ports. On the opposite side is except power connector 2 serial ports available - USART0 = DB9M (RS-232/485) and USART1 = RJ45 (RS-232 Cisco standard wiring).

Delphi TCP/IP Server / logger example
