Full serial port and I/O to Ethernet. I/O Controller 2 connects a full RS-232(485) serial port and digital I/O to the Ethernet. Configuration is Web-based. The serial port can be used as a terminal server (virtual serial port). Digital inputs and outputs can be controlled over the Web or through Modbus/TCP.

New device: HWg-PWR 3 / 12 / 25
The HWg-PWR is a smart Ethernet gateway for remote energy metering and consumption monitoring. To measure the consumption of water, electricity and other energies, external meters with the M-Bus interface are used. Up to 3 / 12 / 25 M-Bus meters can be connected to the HWg-PWR unit. Individual meters (electricity meter, water meter, gas meter, heat meter etc.) are produced by third parties and connected via their M-Bus interface. HWg-PWR is a smart gateway that monitors energy consumption and warns about abnormal values The unit provides a Web interface, charts, SNMP and Modbus/TCP output, data logging, e-mail and SMS alerts, and much more.

Case Study 33: S0 pulse counter with SNMP & Modbus/TCP output
Case study on connecting electricity, gas or water meters to the Ethernet and reading values over the SNMP or Modbus/TCP protocols.
Pulse outputs from 3rd party meters (S0 interface) are connected to the Damocles Ethernet I/O unit. Each Digital Input on the Damocles unit features a 32-bit pulse counter. The value of this counter can be read out over the web using most M2M protocols (SNMP, XML, Modbus/TCP).

Case Study: GSM temperature monitoring and logging, e-mail alerts over GPRS
Portable solution for remote temperature monitoring and logging, suitable for monitoring rooms or equipment. Excessive temperature sensed by a probe is signaled by a text message (SMS) or a ring. Ares12 GSM thermometer continuously logs the temperature in its internal memory and periodically e-mails the log over GPRS. The logs can be imported to MS Excel.

We extended the temperature range for our outdoor 1-Wire temperature sensor. The Temp-1Wire-Outdoor 3m can now be used from -50°C to +125°C (-58°F to 257°F). It can also be connected to the HWg-STE device.

HWg Present HW VSP Multiport with up to 100 virtual serial ports support on one PC. Multiport works only with HWg devices! Older unlimited version with one serial port support only is still available under HW VSP Singleport name.

Damocles model 2404i

Damocles 2404i features 24 dry contact inputs and 4 relays controlled over an IP network (Ethernet). Includes a built-in web server, output control and alarm alerts (e-mail and SNMP trap). Outputs can be controlled manually in the web interface, or with M2M protocols (SNMP, XML, Modbus/TCP).

New temperature, humidity and pressure sensors with display
HWg introduces new sensors for measuring air pressure, temperature, humidiry and dew point. A display on the sensor itself shows the current value. Three new products -- HTemp-485 T3411, T3419 and PHTemp-485 T7410 -- can be connected to Poseidon 1250 and 2251.

Poseidon model 1250 supports direct connection of a GSM modem to the serial port. Alert can be easily sent as SMS without Internet connection.
Available now in latest firmware 1.9.10. This feature upgrade is for free.

GSM thermometer with temperature logging and alerting over SMS and e-mail (GPRS). In addition, Tg11 logs the temperature to its internal Flash memory (every 15 minutes) and e-mails stored data (every 4 hours) over GPRS.

3rd party SW: ProfiLab-Expert
ProfiLab enables you to produce an executable (.exe) file from function blocks. It is a Windows application with a user panel providing the defined functionality.
Application design resembles working with function blocks for PLCs; however, programming in ProfiLab is simpler.

PortStore4
PortStore4 is an solution for monitoring a private branch exchange (PBX) and collecting call accounting data. CDR/SMDR data can be sent by encrypted e-mail or via FTP.

PortStore4 supports analog as well as VoIP telephony. It can collect call acounting data (CDR/SMDR) from old analog PBXs via serial port, or from Trixbox or Asterisk PBXs via IP.

The new “Box2” replaces the previous version, “HTemp-485”. “Box2” is smaller, with easier wall mounting, and can be connected using a terminal block as well as a RJ45 connector (Poseidon 1250 & 2251 wiring standard).

PS Eye - new version
The PBX CMDR / CDR data from RS-232 or IP are stored to various PortStore devices on up to 64 locations.
Data are periodically transferred to the central PS Eye application and stored to separated TXT files to be analyzed in other application.
PS Eye is available also in free version.

CapTemp & MonTemp
CapTemp and MonTemp are Windows application to monitor sensors, probes and production processes in Food and Pharmacy.
CapTemp logs values into database, displays values, processes conditions and alarms. Alerts to Alarm states are sent by e-mail, or by SMS via a GSM modem connected to the PC.

AN35: Poseidon – Preventing false alarms
Poseidon monitoring unit sends SMS, e-mail, and SNMP traps whenever a sensor value is outside of a safe range. However, when the temperature or humidity fluctuates, the unit can send tens or hundreds of messages that are unnecessary and bother the user. AN35 describes ways of avoiding false alarms.
