ALA Kit

ALA Kit enables to connect ALA module to your PC during couple minutes and demonstrate system features for measuring, storing and visualization of measured data. Sensors of some physical quantities are integrated directly into printed circuit board or you simply connect external sensors.

The ALA kit is designed for maximum simplicity of testing the ALA module features along with customer application. Whole kit can be used in the application if needed or only ALA module itself and any other HW supply individually. In every cases the ALA system simplifies the customer solution even in relatively complicated sensor applications. No HW developing is necessary.

 

 

 

 

Typical application

Application examples of ALA system are shown on ALA product family page. Due to the kit, instant working on following purposes is possible:

  • storing data from sensors and sequential transfer to PC (Excel, Web, MySQL)
  • ALA1 module configuration testing for future application
  • direct use of the kit in all kind of sensor application (e.g. meteorological station)

Basic features of the ALA kit

  • 1MB Flash memory to store up to 150 000 values (e.g. 7 values every 30 minutes = circa 1 year)
  • Supplied SW enables to easy export data to Excel or to MySQL
  • 1 serial port RS232 (USB), option to connect GSM/GPRS modem.
  • The program support to connect ALA GPRS module, it contains SMS processing and web server. Option of firmware upgrade over serial interface.
  • Wide range of input signal to output value converting (averaging, calibration, linearization and others). Conversion of input signal according to specified table along with second signal as a parameter enables data processing from non-linear sensor including temperature compensation.
  • Temperature, humidity and light sensors integrated directly into circuit board
  • After disconnecting internal sensors, the inputs can be used as following::
    • analogue / digital input
    • output to supply power to external sensors
    • input for frequency measuring
    • universal binary output
  • Whole communication uses open text communication protocol
  • Part of attached documentation are configuration examples for measuring all kinds of values including linearization and further processing.

Note:

Q: Is it possible totally disconnect sensors integrated in the kit and use inputs for own sensors?
A: Yes, use jumper and terminals to disconnect integrated sensors and then you can connect external sensor.

Q: What SW should I use?
A: Open text protocol is used for communication with the module hence you can used any terminal program. For more comfortable operating the ALAconnect program is supplied. It enables you to setup parameters and read values interactively.

Q: How to export data to Excel
A: Use the ALAconnect program to save data to text file, individual values are separated with commas. This format can be easily open in Excel program for further processing.

Q: Do I need any power source or cable before I start using the ALA kit?
A: No, supplied 9V battery is sufficient for power supply and it is part of package as well as serial cable.
