Sens-485-UI connect two analog current or voltage inputs to the Poseidon unit throught RS-485 bus. DIN rail mounting, galvanic separated analog signals, both channels can be configured to measure voltage 0..15V or current 0..25mA.

Converter for mounting on DIN bar converts galvanical separated analog voltage and current signals from two inputs to RS-485The Sens-485-UI converter communicates via RS-485 using ASCII protocol, which is compatible with Poseidon family products. The converter applies two addresses of two letters (for example „A“/“a“) except the letter „T“ (see manual).

First channel represents the address with capital letter (for example „A“), the second channel represents the address with small letter (for example „a“). Both addresses are assigned simultaneously with the capital letter assigning.

Basic characteristics

  • Input: Two independent channels Ch1 and Ch2
    • Each channel can measure voltage or current
    • Measured variable can be selected via RS-485
    • Voltage range: 0 to +15V DC
    • Current range: 0 to +25mA

  • Output: RS-485 bus
    • ASCII protocol, compatible with Poseidon family products
    • Output resolution: two decimal positions

  • Construction for mounting on DIN bar
  • Power supply 8 to 28V DC, galvanic separation from Ch1 and Ch2

Terminal wiring

Sens-UI dimensions
1(-), 2(U+), 3(I+):  CH1 - channel 1 input
4(-), 5(U+), 6(I+): CH2 - channel 2 input
7(B), 8(A): RS485 line
9(-), 10(+): power supply 8 to 28V DC

The converter mounting

The converter is designed for mounting on the DIN bar 35 mm. Push in the top end and use a flat-head screwdriver to unfasten the pawl. Push the low end in the bar direction to lock. To Dismount follow the instruction backwards.

Connecting to Poseidon devices

Temp-485-Pt100 version DIN sensor connecting to RS-485 bus system wired over RJ45 connectors for Poseidon or Shub unitSens-485-UI unit can be connected to the Poseidon family devices with RS-485 bus (Industrial Bus). To connect over RJ45 connector and TP cabling, use these scheme.

Communication protocol

The sensors works in request-response mode. Maximum response time on the line is 20ms.

  • Communication bus: RS-485
  • Range of addresses: “A/a” .. “Z/z” (except „T/t“)  (25 addresses)
  • Communication: ASCII, see datasheet
  • Response time: max. 20 ms to command
  • Baudrate: 9600 baud
  • Number od data bits: 8
  • Parity: no
  • Number of stopbits: 1
