Temp-232
A simple digital thermal sensor, communicating over RS-232 interface by a simple text protocol. Does not require power supply, the sensor is powered from PC's serial port.
The
measured temperature is sent directly in °C by a simple text protocol.
The sensor sends the measured value regularly (in predefined interval) or as a respond to a request
according to a specific Question-Answer protocol.
The thermal sensor uses an integrated element with
accuracy of ± 0,5°C for temperature measuring. LED indicates that temperature measuring is in progress.
.
Application
- Temperature measuring systems
- Industrial measuring and regulation
- Temperature measuring in warehouses, production and residential premises
- After connection to Poseidon - measuring in technological premises and transferring data via Ethernet
Basic properties
- The sensor is connected to PC over standard RS-232
- Temperature measuring in range from -55°C to +125°C
- The sensor address and a period of automatic temperature reporting can be set in terminal SETUP mode
- It can operate in Question-Answer mode
- LED indication of measuring
- Simple communication protocol
- Does not require power supply, powered directly from PC serial port
- The sensor cooperates with SNMP thermometer Poseidon

Setting DTR or RTS to „On“ value |

Sensor installation:
- Connect Temp-232 to PC port
- Run terminal program, choose serial port where the Temp-232 is connected, set speed to
9600, port parameters 8N1,
RTS and DTR output to „ON“
- In the terminal a temperature value will start to appear (in 2 second interval, preset in factory)
SETUP Terminal mode
- Turn on the thermometer (Set DTR or RTS to „On“ =
+12V)
- Access the SETUP mode by sending cca 20 „u“ (117 DEC) characters after turning on.
You can just hold the "u" key until the LED of the thermometer lights up.
- Choose parameters in Setup mode using the first letters of the desired command
