nmsDashboard
nmsDashboard is a program for general device monitoring over the network. Continuous monitoring for 24 hours, 7 days a week from any PC running under Windows, nmsDashboard enables you to supervise unlimited number of sensors over different protocols, among other all types of sensors for the Poseidon via SNMP.
There is a Wizard in installation package, which automatically searches for the Poseidon units on set IP address and log configuration from them. For start sets graphic patterns are built-in.

nmsDashboard monitors using 10 methods (Monitoring tasks) all sorts of device parameters over the network (Ping, HTTP, FTP, SNMP, etc.) Values of these parameters can be linked to graphic interface which is presented to the user. Failure of device or value out of safe range is visible at first sight.
SNMP Trap Manager supports SNMP Trap receive which can be logged and linked to crisis state.
The operator does not have to watch monitor, nmsDashboard will inform you in crisis situation. |

Basic program parameters

Monitoring tasks
A set of built-in features which are monitored, make configuration easy and quick:
- FTP Request
To download a file from FTP server, successful download is noticed
- HTTP Request
To download file on requested URL address, successful download is noticed
- IP Discovery
On selected range of addresses searches for working device via ICMP (PING)
- IP Port Discovery
On selected range of IP addresses and ports verifies availability of TCP ports
- ICMP Ping
Verifies functionality of a device and send response time
- SNMP Discovery
On selected range of IP addresses searches for certain device via SNMP (selected OID)
- SNMP Request
Responds value of OID parameter (according to SNMP MIB) on selected IP address
- TCP Connection
Verifies connection to selected IP address and port
- Trace Route
Maps route of connection to selected IP address
Representation elements
Every "Task" measures certain value via method above. The value from one task can be linked to a number of graphic elements from this file:
Animation
Animation represents selected avi file. The file can be selected according to presented variable
- Bargraph

Represents values on a horizontal or vertical graph
- Graph

Progress of variable value in time. Scale range as well as time scale are configurable for every graph
- Label

Text representation of current value of variable
- List View

Table representation. Practical for complicated outputs as Trace Route or Discovery features which respond a set of parameters.
- Meter

Simple, at first sight recognizable representation of real time value. Color background of the scale defines ranges of critical states
- Picture

Represents selected BMP file according to real time variable
- Value

Value, message or status representing through background color
Example: On this screenshot you can see monitoring of the Poseidon 1140 device, with three temperature sensors. For every Task was selected several methods of representation.
Alarms a logs
For crises situation any from following responds can be selected:
- Email sending
- Logging of operation system event to "Application Event Log.*"
- Play back of selected WAV audio file on the workstation
- Run external application (or bat file)
To prevent certain device from periodical generating of a fake alarm, you can define "alarm dead time", time for deactivation of alarm source.
Running SNMP Trap Manager receives SNMP Traps from all devices. You can monitor state of a device that is not displayed in the main list
Logging
When you switch back to graphic interface, searching of log files to find out history is not necessary. Use increased speed of graphic interface to play back the situation during your absence.
Licence
The author of nmsDashboard program is british company ICEnetware Ltd, details about product can be found on web: http://www.icenetware.com/dashboard.php.
Free version limits: The program in free version is limited in number of data logging processes (tasks). First 30 days after installation 21 "task" can be used, after this period only 3 tasks are available in free version.
Task is one process of data logging (logging of contact input state, temperature value or ping to IP address). Several graphic representations can be linked to one Task, for example display of current value, graph of the value in time etc.
Notice: Special version for user of the Poseidon family products is available. It enables you to use 6 tasks after registration.
