SNMPc is a well-known and established product for monitoring large
networks. It has thousands of users. Its biggest advantage is
its robustness and scalability.
However, the robustness of the system comes at a cost

charge.

Nagios is one of the most well-known and most often
used open-source software for monitoring IT infrastructures.
Nagios monitors end-user stations, IT services, as well
as active network components. Its architecture is very modular and
suitable for deployment in heterogeneous or *nix-based networks. There
is a large and active community around Nagios that develops many
additional modules or plug-ins.

Intellipool
Network Monitor is a sophisticated monitoring software with an
excellent web interface. One of its merits is a well-developed user
interface
that provides IT administrators with an overview about what is happening in
their networks.
Intellipool NM contains a very powerful reporting
functionality. Reports
can be created automatically along with useful graphs. Range of
supported server services that the NM can monitor is somewhat limited.
