Poseidon Eye (PN Eye) is a utility for using and configuration of network devices of the Poseidon family. Program can configure devices, load a new FirmWare and also dump and log values, redirecting SNMP to Email or SMS and other..

Poseidon Eye is a freeware program for management of Poseidon family devices. PN Eye allows to use all features offered by Poseidon and sensors connected (for humidity, temperature control etc.) without a need of huge remote management system.

Generaly the PN Eye's alarm monitoring is limited by the fact, that only one Poseidon 1140 device can be monitored at the time. For monitoring more devices (sensors) it is necessary to use other offered programs and utility software (nmsDashboard, CapTemp and othersí)..

PN Eye - Application

SNMP to Email, SNMP to SMS, temperature control via SMSSoftware monitors all sensors connected to the Poseidon device. That includes not only temperature sensors but also humidity, flowage sensors, contact closing, external analogue inputs or relay outputs.

PN Eye - network

The picture below shows usage example of the PN Eye with one Poseidon device. PN Eye regulates the common functions that are neccesary for smaller installations.

SMS Alert

Exceeding any safe range of the Poseidon sensors (temperature, humidity etc. alarms) that start an alarm can be communicated by redirection to an SMS message using a GSM modem.

Email Alert

Alarm caused by exceeding the safe range of the Poseidon monitoring systems can be also redirected to a defined Email address.

Graph

The sensor values are logged and projected regularly (in defined intervals) in the form of a graph.

Store to logfile

PN Eye works as a datalogger. All connected sensors are periodically monitored and data logged in the defined time intervals. The logs are available in text .log format or in .xml file.


SMS Alert (SNMP monitoring)

PN Eye together with a GSM modem can fast and easily warn the attendance of the crisis situation using SMS message. If PN Eye looks after only one Poseidon unit, it is possible to use call-back about the sensor states.

(1) SMS Alert

When the monitored values exceeds the safe range, the SNMP Trap is sand and PN Eye redirects this to a SMS.

(2) SMS Query / SMS Status

By the means of SMS message from any tel. number it is possible to verify the state of all Poseidons sensors (SMS Query). PN Eye then sends back to the sender an SMS with the sensor state information (SMS Status). If the SMS Qery is not sent from the number previously stated as a Receiver of the Alarm messages, the SMS must contain the predefined password (SMS password).

(3) RING Query / SMS Status

For general use it is practical to verify the states of the Poseidon sensors witch just mere telephone ring (RING Query). PN Eye then sends back an SMS with the sensor states (SMS Status). Only telephone numbers previously stated as Receiver of the Alarm messages are accepted.

 

 

Redirection alarms from more Poseidon units

PN Eye can periodically log values from one Poseidon only, but it also contains SNMP Trap forwarder, which redirects the Email Alert (SNMP Trap) to an Email, or SMS.
However, call-back on the server states via SMS or logging and graph projection relates to one Poseidon device only (here "Poseidon device B" marked with green colour).

The example of temperature measuring shows that thermal sensors on the devices A and C monitors the temperature (controls that the temperature is within the safe range) and the device B monitors the temperature and at the same time logs the process for later graphic projection.

SMS Alert  -  (SNMP Trap to SMS)

When the safe range is crossed, the Poseidon sends a SNMP Trap. PN Eye receives them, analyze them and then it can send it via GSM SMS message to the defined number. This funcion works for all three depicted devices (A, B and C). Eventual call-back (SMS Query or RING Query) though works for Poseidon device B ONLY !

Email Alert  -  (SNMP Trap to Email)

If the monitoring system registers values exceeding the safe range the SNMP Trap is sent, to inform on this situation. PN Eye receives this Poseidon's SNMP traps and is able to send them forth as an Email to the defined email address. This function therefore works for all three depicted devices (A, B and C).

Graph

Values of the defined device (device B only) are periodically in a specific time interval logged and can be displayed as a graph.

Store to logfile

PN Eye works as a datalogger. All connected sensors are in defined interval periodically read by the defined device (device B only) and the values logged. The records are available in text format .log or in .xml file.
